Gwynt y Môr Windfarm: Weekly Notice of Operations, 20th April 2012

This is a summary of the weekly notice of operations for the Gwynt y Môr Wind Farm issued on 20th April 2012 to harbour masters and sea users .  This notice describes recent operations, work planned for the next 7 days, and provides a list of vessels operating on the site with their contact details.

Work carried out over past 7 days

The following work has been carried out in the past week:

  • Tideway Rolling Stone has completed the latest campaign of laying foundation stones at various turbine positions (see our earlier update here).  This vessel has now left the site.
  • Freya has been carrying out survey work on the export cable route (see our earlier update here).
  • Penrhos Bay has been used as a CTV / Stand by vessel, running out of Conwy Marina.  She will stand by during jacket installation duties (see the Notice to Mariners 10 here).
  • Stanislav Yudin arrived in North Wales and went straight to anchor off Point Lynas.  She moved on to the Gwynt y Môr site on 20th April.
  • Anglian Monarch arrived in North Wales with Stanislav Yudin.

Work planned for next 7 days

The work planned for the next 7 days on the site is:

  • Freya will be carrying out survey work on the export cable route (see earlier update here).
  • Penhros Bay will be utilised as Crew Transfer / Stand by vessel, running out of Conwy Marina. To stand by during Jacket installation duties.
  • Union Beaver will be laying Mattresses & carrrying out Diving Operations at Various locations alongside Workbarge MPR2 who will be assisting with anchors (see earlier update here).
  • OSP East Jacket has been loaded on to barge UR 99 (towed by Union Boxer or Bremen Fighter) at Methil, Fife.
  • Stanislav Yudin will move in-field and will conduct a pre-installation survey of the Eastern Offshore Substation proposed position  (see earlier update here).

  • MPR 2: Anchor handling barge.
  • Stanislav Yudin: Crane vessel | Call sign 5BYM2 |
  • Anglian Monarch: support vessel for Stanislav Yudin | Call sign MYFR6.
  • UR 99: Delivery Barge
  • Bremen Fighter (tbc): Tug for Delivery Barge | Call sign V20Y1
  • Union Boxer (tbc): Tug for Delivery Barge | Call sign ORPS

Port Arrivals

The planned port arrivals over the next 7 days are:-

  • Cammel Laird Birkenhead/Port of Liverpool.
    MV Joergen  arrived 17th April Delivering Transition pieces and Monopiles – alongside the South Quay,WetBasinat Cammel Laird.
    MV Bente expected to arrive 23rd April with next two component sets.
  • Mostyn.
    None planned
