Rhyl Flats Offshore Wind Farm: Survey Operations, January 2021

Mariners are advised that survey operations are due to be carried out by the vessel Titan Discovery within the North Hoyle and Rhyl Flats windfarms during January 2021.  A Notice to Mariners about these operations is summarised below and can be downloaded here.

Survey operations

RWE Renewables UK will be carrying out underwater survey operations at North Hoyle and Rhyl Flats Wind Farms off the North Wales coast.  Operations will take place firstly at North Hoyle followed by Rhyl Flats and will commence on or around the 8th January 2021 and will take approximately 1 week to complete.  Dates and duration of the survey work are subject to weather and sea conditions.

Vessel details

Titan Discovery is a purpose built survey vessel.  It is bright yellow in colour, and is 13m LOA.  The vessel details and a link to its present location are given below:-

During survey operations the vessel will exhibit the approprite day/night signals and displays.

Other vessels are asked to give Titan Discovery a wide berth of 100m during these operations, to keep wash to a minimum, and to gain permission from the vessel before approaching within the 100m zone.
