[Please note: this notice has been superceded by an update that is available here]

Mariners are advised that cable repair work is due to be carried out on the export cable for the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm during January 2021.  Details of this work have been published by the contractor on behalf of the cable operator here and is reproduced below.

Briggs Marine Contractors has been contracted by Gwynt-Y-Mor OFTO to undertake a repair to the SSEC3 export cable due to a power core fault. These operations will commence 5th January 2021 until the 28th January 2021

The work will be undertaken by the DP2 jack up installation vessel, Blue Tern and the multi-purpose support vessel, Zwerver.  Additional support will be provided by the Crew Transfer Vessel, Iceni Defiant.

During these operations the Blue Tern call sign: 9HA5208 / Zwerver Call sign: PDSO / Iceni Defiant will be restricted in their ability to manoeuvre and vessels are requested, in the interest of safety, to pass with care and at a safe speed and distance (advisory 500m).

Should any vessel wish to come within 500m of the repair vessels, then direct communication with the Master is required.

The full text and location map for these works is available here.  If you have any queries about this work please contact Jessica Reoch at Briggs Marine (jreoch@briggsmarine.com).
