Gwynt y Môr: Export Cable Repair – Update & Marker Buoy, May 2021

This is a further update to Mariners about the cable repair work that is being carried out on the export cable for the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm.

This work started in January, and was completed in March 2021.  After the repair a small loop of cable remained unburied and raised above the seabed by approximately 2m.  A north cardinal buoy has been installed 75m north of the cable loop and will remain in position until the completion of works in July 2022.

  • Location:  53°23.052’N  003° 35.481’W (WGS 84).
  • Specification: Yellow buoy, tall black pillar, north cardinal shape.
