Gwynt y Môr: Drilling Operations, September 2015

Mariners are advised that drilling operations are due to be carried out at the location of one of the turbines in the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm between the 5th and 15th September 2015 from the vessel Greatship Manisha.  A notice to mariners describing this activity can be downloaded here and is summarised below.

Drilling operations are due to be carried out by the Greatship Manisha at the following location:-

  • H1N 53° 27.036’N 003°41.496’W

During the course of drilling operations the Greatship Manisha will be connected to the seabed by a drillpipe and will be unable to manoeuvre.

Information about the vessel involved in this operation, including the call sign and a link to the vessel details on the Marine Traffic website, which will show its current location, is given below.

All vessel traffic is asked to keep at least 500m clear of Greatship Manisha when it is engaged in operations.  The vessel will keep a listening watch on VHF Channel 16 at all times.

Update – 14th September 2015

Drilling operations were completed on the 14th September 2015 and the notice to mariners has been withdrawn.
