Hunterston-Kintyre Cable: UXO Near Arran

Mariners are advised that a suspected unexploded anti-submarine mine has been found during underwater operations for the Hunsterston-Kintyre cable.  A Notice to Mariners has been issued by Clydeport today, 15th May 2015 advising of the location of this UXO.  The Notice can be downloaded here and is summarised below.

Location of UXO

The suspected UXO is located near the North end of Arran, approximately 1nm NNE of White Cottage, Laggan at this location:-

  • UXO: 53° 43.37’N 005° 12.22’W

All vessels that are not involved in the disposal of this UXO are to remain clear of the area by at least 1000m radius.
