SeaGen Skerries Update: Geotechnical survey April 2013

Geotechnical survey work is due to be carried out between Anglesey and the Skerries, starting on Tuesday 2nd April 2013 until 7th April 2013 (weather permitting).  This work is being carried out as part of the site investigations for the SeaGen Skerries tidal energy (more information about this project is available here).

This survey work is due to be carried out by Canyon Offshore Ltd using the survey vessel Deep Cygnus.  During operations the vessel will deploy a subsea drill rig on to the seabed.  Three boreholes are due to be drilled during the survey.  During drilling operations the vessel will be unable to move and a wide berth is requested at all times.

A full notice of these activities, including a chart and precise borehole locations can be downloaded here.

The contact details for the Deep Cygnus are given below.  We have linked up the vessel names to MarineTraffic.com so that with just one mouse click you can find out more about its current location and recent activity.
