Gwynt y Môr Windfarm: Project Update #4

A newsletter detailing progress with the construction of the Gwynt y Môr website has just been published.  You can download a copy here, and we’ve summarised the key points below:-

  •  Offshore
    • More than 40 turbine foundations have now been installed by the vessels Stanislav Yudin and Friederich Ernestine.
    • One of the export cables from the site is being installed by the vessel Cable Enterprise.
  • Onshore
    • Six new apprentices have started training as wind turbine technicians at Coleg Llandrillo Menai in Conwy.
    • A new wind turbine training centre is being established at Coleg Llandrillo Menai in Conwy with the support of RWE NRL.
    • Members of Cefn Meiriadog Community Council visited the new onshore substation at St Asaph.
    • Four noise monitoring stations have been established along the North Wales coast.
    • A 24-hour noise hotline has been established for the project (phone number 0845 026 0587).
