PRIORITY NOTICE Gwynt y Môr Windfarm: Navigation hazard 21st September 2012

A Navigation Warning advising of exposed monopiles has been issued for the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Windfarm today, 21st September 2012.  The full notice can be downloaded here and is summarised below.

There are now a total of three exposed monopiles within the Gwynt y Môr Windfarm area.  These monopiles become submerged at high water, at which time the only visible part of the monopile is a navigation aid (yellow flashing beacon) placed on top of the monopile.  The location of the exposed monopiles is shown in the map here.

All vessels are asked to navigate with extreme caution in the demarcated windfarm area.

Extra caution should be taken when in the vicinity of the vessel Stanislav Yudin as there may be occasions when navigation aids have not yet been installed.  Any vessel wishing to approach the Stanislav Yudin should not do so until permission has been granted from the vessel bridge and all hazards are received and understood.

Please contact Jim Andrews, Fishery Liaison Officer by e-mail or phone (+44(0)7908-225865) if you have any queries or concerns about this notice.
