Gwynt y Môr: Survey Operations, September 2018

Mariners are advised that bathymetric and sidescan survey operations are due to be carried out off the North Wales coast around the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm during September 2018.  A Notice to Mariners has been issued, which is summarised below and can be downloaded here.

Survey operations are due to commence on 5th September 2018, weather permitting. The survey is planned to take 7 days at sea, and is expected to be completed by 20th September.

The survey is to be carried out by the Fugro Seeker.  The vessel details, including a link to its present location, are:-

The vessel will be operating on a 12 hour basis from either Conwy or Mostyn.

During the course of these operations the vessel will be towing equipment up to 100m behind the vessel and may be restricted in the ability to manoeuvre.

The vessel will be displaying the appropriate lights and shapes as required under the COLREGS Rule 27(b).  Other vessels are asked to maintain a wide berth of at least 250m at all times.
