Gwynt y Môr: Maintenance Operations, October 2018

Mariners are advised that maintenance operations are due to be carried out in the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm by the jack-up platform Wind.  These are due to start on the 20th October 2018.  A Notice to Mariners has been issued , which is summarised below and can be downloaded here.

Location of works

The maintenance operations will take place within the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm boundary.  The wind turbine where these operations will take place is given below:-

  • F17E: 053° 27.787’N 003° 29.680’W

The operations will take approximately 7 days to complete (subject to weather and sea conditions)

Vessel details

Wind is a 55 m jack up vessel with a red hull and white superstructure.  The vessel details, including a link to its present location, are:-

  • Wind: jack up vessel | Call sign OXSW2

Mariners are requested to keep well clear and pass slowly, particularly when the craft is manoeuvering or during lifting operations.  A 500m exclusion zone has been requested around the vessel.

The Wind will be monitoring VHF channel 16 at all times.
