Maintenance Operations: North Hoyle and Rhyl Flats Offshore Windfarms, July – August 2025

Mariners are advised that the jack up vessel MPI Resolution will be carrying out maintenance operations within the North Hoyle and Rhyl Flats Wind Farms off the North Wales coast during late July to mid August 2025.

Maintenance operations

The jack up vessel MPI Resolution is due to be carrying out heavy lifting operations at eight turbines: four in the North Hoyle windfarm, and four in Rhyl Flats.  Locations and coordinates are given below, along with start dates and expected durations of work:-

  • Rhyl Flats – 31st July, 4 days duration.
    • RF01: 53° 23.485’N 003° 39.180’W
    • RF02: 53° 23.388’N 003° 38.750’W
    • RF03: 53° 23.291’N 003° 38.320’W
    • RF10: 53° 23.154’N 003° 40.316’W
  • North Hoyle – 6th August, 7 days duration.
    • NH05: 53° 24.63’N 003° 25.25’W
    • NH21: 53° 25.18’N 003° 28.33’W
    • NH23: 53° 25.35’N 003° 26.92’W
    • NH25: 53° 25.51’N 003° 25.50’W

Dates and durations of work at both locations are subject to weather and sea conditions.

These works are being carried out under Marine Licence number CML1465 for North Hoyle and number CML1466 for Rhyl Flats.

Vessel details

MPI Resolution is a 6-legged jack up vessel measuring 130m in length by 38m in width, with a blue hull and white superstructure.  The vessel details and a link to its present location are given below:-

When at the specified locations the vessel will be restricted in the ability to manoeuvre and will exhibit signals in accordance with the UK Standard Marking Schedule for Offshore Installations.

Other vessels are asked to observe a 500m exclusion zone at all times and to gain permission from the vessel before approaching within the 500m zone.

The vessel will monitor VHF Channel 16 at all times.
