Awel y Môr Proposed Wind Farm: Online Exhibition and Consultation, November 2020

For the month of November 2020, an online exhibition and public consultation about the proposed Awel y Môr Offshore Windfarm off the North Wales coast is available to anyone interested in the project. You can access this exhibition and consultation at the project website, awelymor.cymru.

Awel y Môr Offshore Wind Farm

Awel y Môr Offshore Wind Farm is a project being developed by RWE to the west of the existing Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm. It is located approximately 10.5km off the North Wales coast in the Irish Sea, with a maximum total area of 106km².

Exhibition and Consultation

The purpose of the online exhibition and consultation is to introduce the project and seek feedback on key aspects of the proposal including:-

  • Onshore infrastructure
    • landfall locations (where the offshore cables meet the land)
    • onshore cable routes
    • onshore substation locations
  • Offshore infrastructure
  • All other project considerations

The project team are very keen to hear from people with an interest in the proposed windfarm and will consider all feedback as the project design is developed.

The exhibition and consulation will remain open at awelymor.cymru until the 30th November 2020.

Some posters advertising the consultation are available to download (in English here and in Welsh here).  Feel free to post these on notice boards and also to circulate this message to anyone who may be interested in the project.

Please note that there will be a further opportunity for comment during  the next round of Public Consultation during 2021.  We will keep you informed of these opportunities.
