Gwynt y Môr: ROV Survey Operations, July 2020

Mariners are advised that ROV survey operations are due to be carried out within the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm off the North Wales coast during July 2020. A Notice to Mariners has been issued, which is summarised below and can be downloaded here.  Survey operations are due to start on the 11th July 2020.

Location

Survey work is due to be conducted within the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Windfarm (a map of the windfarm is available from the Kingfisher website here).  The purpose of the survey is to determine the risk of cable exposure within the windfarm site.

Vessel details

The survey is to be carried out by the unmanned survey vessel Captain P.  The vessel details, including a link to its present location, are given below:-

  • Captain P: High Speed Craft | Call sign 2FSO5 | MMSI 235093878

During the survey operations the vessel will be connected to the ROV via an umbilical cable and will be restricted in the ability to manoeuvre.

The Captain P will maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 16.
