Gwynt y Môr: Export Cable Survey Works, April 2015

Mariners are advised that cable survey works are due to be carried out on the export cable from the Gwynt y Môr Offshore windfarm between the 2nd and 14th of April 2015.  A Notice to Mariners has been issued by Briggs Marine in connection with these works.  This notice can be downloaded here and is summarised below.

The vessel Forth Jouster is due to be carrying out cable survey works in an area of 500m radius, centred on the location 53° 24.314’N 003° 34.577’W, which is to the south of the windfarm area.  Survey operations will be carried out using an Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV), Multi Beam Echo Sounder (MBES) and Side Scan Sonar.

During survey operations the Forth Jouster will be restricted in the ability to manoeuvre.  All vessel traffic is asked to keep at least 500m clear of the vessel when it is engaged in operations.  The vessel can be contacted on VHF Channel 16 at all times.
