Gwynt y Môr Windfarm: Weekly Notice of Operations, 31st May 2012

This is a summary of the weekly notice of operations for the Gwynt y Môr Wind Farm issued on 31st May 2012 to harbour masters and sea users .  This notice describes recent operations, work planned for the next 7 days, and provides a list of vessels operating on the site with their contact details.

Work carried out over past 7 days

The following work has been carried out in the past week:

  • Freja has been carrying out survey work on the export cable route (see our earlier update here).  This work was completed on the 29th May 2012.
  • Penrhos Bay has been used as a CTV / Stand by vessel, running out of Conwy Marina.  She has been transporting workers to and from the East & West Offshore Substations (OSPs).
  • Choice has been on guard vessel duties (see Notice to Mariners 13 here).

Work planned for next 7 days

The work planned for the next 7 days on the site is:

  • Penhros Bay will be utilised as Crew Transfer / Stand by vessel, running out of Conwy Marina.
  • Choice will remain on station as guard vessel.
  • Commissioning work will continue on OSP (East & West) during daylight hours, with Penrhos Bay transporting workers to and from Deganwy / Conwy.

  • Penrhos Bay:  Crew transfer vessel | Call sign 2DLB8.
  • ChoiceMarine Mammal Observation Vessel / Guard Vessel.

Port Arrivals

The planned port arrivals over the next 7 days are:-

  • Cammel Laird Birkenhead/Port of Liverpool.
    MV Marlene arrived 31st May, expected to depart on 1st June.
    MV Joerge N expected 4th June 2012.
    MV Choice expected on 7th June 2012, departure on 8th June 2012.
  • Mostyn.
    None planned
