Gwynt y Môr: Survey Operations, January 2019

Mariners are advised that drop down camera and benthic grab survey operations are due to be carried out off the North Wales coast to the south, west, and within the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm during January 2019.  A Notice to Mariners has been issued, which is summarised below and can be downloaded here.

Survey operations are due to commence on 7th January 2019.  The survey is expected to be completed by 31st January.

Vessel details

The survey is to be carried out by the survey vessel Aquadynamic.  The vessel details, including a link to its present location, are:-

The vessel will be operating during daylight hours from Conwy, North Wales.

During the course of survey operations the vessel will be static on each survey station for approximately 15 minutes.  Umbilical cables may trail from the cable by up to 25m.  The vessel and may be restricted in the ability to manoeuvre and a wide berth is requested at all times.

The skipper will monitor VHF Channel 16 throughout survey work.  Further information about the survey vessel is provided in the Notice to Mariners which can be downloaded here.
