Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm: Survey Operations, October 2025

Mariners are advised that survey operations are due to be carried out by the vessel Tracer 3 at the former metmast location off the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm off the North Wales coast during October 2025.  A Notice to Mariners about these operations is summarised below and can be downloaded here.

Survey operations

The Tracer 3 is due to be carrying out survey at the nearby Met Mast location operating out of Conwy Marina.  The survey is due to start on the 15th of October and will continue for approximately 1 day, subject to weather and sea conditions.

The survey location is listed below.

  • Meteorological Mast: 053° 28.440’N 003° 30.5017’W

The location, latitude and longitude of the former metmast location can be seen on the Kingfisher Awareness Chart here.

This work is being carried out under Marine Licence number 11/52/ML/4.

Vessel details

Tracer 3 is a RIB survey vessel measuring 9m in length by 3.2m in width, with a white hull, white superstructure and blue pontoons.  The vessel details and a link to its present location are given below:

When at the specified locations the vessel will be towing equipment and restricted in the ability to manoeuvre.  Mariners are requested where possible to maintain a 500m exclusion area around the survey vessel.
