Danish shellfish producers Vilsund Blue have just become MSC certified as a source of sustainable oysters (European flat oysters, Ostrea edulis). This is the first oyster fishery in the world to attain the MSC standard.
We have been working with Vilsund Blue and our colleagues at Intertek Moody Marine to assess this fishery since early in 2011. Full details of the assessment can be found on the MSC website here.
