SeaGen Update: Current Meter Deployment

Submarine equipment is due to be installed at five locations between Anglesey and the Skerries as part of the SeaGen project.  This notice provides some information about the timing and location of activities.

Stainless steel frames containing scientific equipment will be deployed at  five sites between Anglesey and the Skerries over the next few days (tomorrow, Weds 28th March and on Thursday 29th March 2012).  The vessel Seekat C will be installing these frames, and other vessel are requested to maintain an appropriate and safe distance from her, and to pass slowly.

The frames will be ballasted so that they don’t move, and will stand 0.5m above the seabed.  They will not be marked by surface buoys.  They frames will remain in place for 30 days, after which they will be recovered.

A full notice of these activities, including a chart can be downloaded here.

Please contact Jim Andrews, Fishery Liaison Officer (+44(0)7908-225865) if you have any queries or concerns about this activity.
