Gwynt y Môr: Removal of FLIDAR buoy, December 2014

Mariners are advised that the FLIDAR buoy presently located in the vicinity of the Gwynt y Môr windfarm is due to be removed by Babcock International on the 3rd December 2014.  A Notice to Mariners about this work can be downloaded here and is summarised below.

The FLIDAR buoy is currently located at position 53°28.8’N 003°30.3’W (Marine Gate #1 Restricted Area).  The buoy will be removed by the crane barge Lara 1 and the tug C-Salvor.  This work is due to commence on the 3rd December 2014 and is expected to take one day.

Informattion about the vessels involved in this operation, including their call signs and al link to the vessel details is given below.

  • Lara 1: crane barge | Call sign 3FAG2
  • C-Salvor: tug | Call sign 2GCK7

All vessel traffic is asked to keep at least 500m clear of these vessels when they are engaged in operations.  The vessel can be contacted on VHF Channel 16 at all times.
