Gwynt y Môr: Re-scheduled Survey of Export Cable

Bad weather prevented the scheduled survey of the export cable joints (see our earlier notice about this work here).  This work is now due to start on the 30th or 31st March 2013.  It is likely that the work will now be carried out by the vessel MCS Ailsa.

A notice about these operations can be downloaded here and is summarised below.

The survey of Subsea Export Cable No. 1 will be carried out by a survey vessel, which will be working in the approximate position 53°11’N  03°36’W.  The vessel will be towing survey equipment from her stern.  Vessels are asked to observe a 500m safety zone around the vessel.

The call sign for the MCS Ailsa and also a link to information about the vessel is given below.

  • MCS Ailsa: utility vessel | Call sign 5BDK3
